Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities of this position include supporting and executing consulting project activities. This includes developing content for client solutions and other project-related materials, conducting and reporting statistical analyses, summarizing materials for litigation support, and writing technical documentation. Individuals in this position also facilitate various types of focus groups and work directly with clients to execute project plans.

Candidate Profile

  • Ph.D. or Masters Degree in industrial-organizational psychology or related discipline
  • One to three years of I-O or HR-related consulting, corporate or internship experience
  • Strong customer focus, project management, interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  • Experience with executing multi-faceted projects in one or more of the following areas: job analysis, selection and assessment, performance management, survey research or training and development
  • Experience with statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, SAS)

The APTMetrics Product Solutions team has an opening for a director to lead the development and implementation of assessment-centered talent solutions on the APTMetrics product platform. The Product Solutions team plays a critical role in the development and launch of client technology solutions, working at the intersection of consulting and product development to help create innovative and engaging assessments, simulations, and processes for selecting and developing talent. You will work within and outside of your team to understand client challenges, identify solutions, and build or improve processes to ensure quality and scalability in the development and implementation of solutions. You will be required to exhibit excellent leadership, project management, problem solving and communication skills across a diverse set of stakeholders.

As the Director of Product Solutions, you will oversee the scheduling of projects, working with your team and cross-functional partners to ensure appropriate resourcing and viable timelines based on the current portfolio of projects. You or one of your Product Solutions team members will also function as the Product Solutions lead for specific projects, managing the setup, testing, and launch of the solution. Your cross-functional team members will include consultants, product developers, innovation, and operations partners. The ability to proactively communicate and maintain alignment among project team members is key.


  • Lead a team of direct reports by ensuring a shared vision, establishing expectations, and setting clear goals. Establish milestones, targets, and metrics to ensure achievement of professional and business objectives. Mentor, coach, and develop direct reports.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the APTMetrics product platform, its capabilities, best practice approaches to assessment, and APT processes for solution configuration and implementation.
  • Serve as point of contact for new project requests (e.g., the setup and implementation of a client solution), working with the Product Solutions team and cross-functional partners to determine milestones and realistic launch dates.
  • Serve as Product Solutions lead for assigned projects, working cross-functionally to determine solution requirements and implementation timelines. Manage setup, testing, and implementation activities according to schedule.
  • Collaborate with and support other team members as needed to ensure successful setup and implementation of all client solutions on APT’s platform (i.e., projects that are led by other team members)
  • Support business development efforts by participating in sales activities (e.g., client demonstrations) as needed. Work directly with clients and internal partners to understand client needs and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Serve as central point for receiving and tracking new product development ideas (e.g., new features, capabilities, or solutions) from cross-functional partners and stakeholders. Facilitate internal vetting and prioritization process with appropriate internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Product Solutions and Product development teams in the design and development of new platform features and capabilities.
  • Identify, lead, and/or contribute to process improvement initiatives (e.g., processes related to the development, delivery, support, evaluation, and improvement of solutions).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of related work experience (e.g., consulting, talent management)
  • 5+ years of experience in the design, development, and implementation of technology-driven (SaaS) solutions (e.g., assessments for selection and development)
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Team player

 Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification, CAPM, or comparable project management certification is highly desirable
